Characteristics of Surface Wave on the Unstable Interface in Gas Jet Forming

The surface accuracy and quality of the mirror blank determine performance optical after coating; therefore, it is crucial to seek a simple effective method for processing. gas jet forming provides new idea, which employs impinge on liquid pool, forms specific curved solidifies it. However, due interface instability that occurred with range velocity, periodical fluctuations appear affect blank. In this study, amplitude transfer period waves in air gas/dimethyl silicone oil system are taken as research objects. After conducting orthogonal experiments, study uses high-speed camera record generation wave fluctuation gas–liquid during its transfer. Subsequently, analyses influences velocity viscosity dimethyl wave. following multiple groups parameters were selected 11~13 m/s 500~2000 Pa·s. This measures morphology different using image recognition. Finally, measured data, establishes calculation model period, realizing characteristics unstable interface. can be used enhance jet-forming method.
